Welcome to A Breath of Fresh Air Wild Nurture. We provide holiday club sessions with a Forest School ethos, for 5 to 11 years old*. These sessions are all about enjoying nature, playing and exploring through activities such as fire lighting, den building, gardening activities, campfire cooking, crafts with nature, using hand tools and team games.
We have different provocations set up for every session linked to a theme, alongside open-ended self-lead forest school activities. Wild Nurture Holiday Club full-length sessions are between 9.30-3.30pm. We also have shorter length sessions which run between 10-2pm. We have sessions running in the Easter and May half term holidays as well as over the Summer Holiday. * due to Ofsted regulations we can take children from the 1st September after their fifth birthday (from Year 1 up) |

An Outline of a typical day at the Wild Nurture Holiday Club...We begin around the log circle where everyone is welcomed and the main activities for the day are introduced.
Morning Session - children are then invited to choose how they wish to play for this session. An adult-facilitated morning activity will also be available. Half way through the morning, we invite children back to the log circle for their morning snack and a game. Lunchtime - We will then all come back together around the log circle for lunch time, and a group activity. Afternoon Session - The children will have the opportunity to take part in further self-led exploration of the woodland and activities on offer, alongside a second adult-facilitated activity. And finally - we come back together around the log circle with the fire on. Children are invited to share they experiences, listen to a story with a hot chocolate and a snack cooked on the fire. Children are encouraged to take home their own crafts from the day to share with their grown ups! |

Further Details
Please wear appropriate clothing, including full-length arms and legs and closed-toe shoes. Children will probably enjoy getting mucky in the water play, so wellies and puddle suits are recommended, as well as a change of clothes! We have limited shelter during rainy days but the majority of both sites are not under cover. At both school site, there are undercover areas for children to leave their belongings, as well as toilets and handwashing facilities. The safety of your child(ren) is our priority. As with all outdoor play, there are some risks. We have assessed and managed these risks and deem them appropriate for the age group. Prior to each session, we conduct a safety sweep taking into consideration all current conditions. All staff have completed their safeguarding training and have the relevant enhanced DBS check. The holiday club will proceed in all weather conditions, except those deemed dangerous, such as lightning or high winds. You will be notified if the holiday club has been cancelled because of this, with further instructions. Children will need to bring a morning snack and packed lunch with them. We are a nut-free site. |
