Welcome to Boys in the Woods
Boys in the Woods takes place on the first Sunday of each month between 10-12pm at our Appledore School site.
This club is perfect for dads, uncles, grandads and male guardians and their children (boys and girls) from walkers (18months) and up! Every session will include a fire, campfire cooking, simple tool use, mud kitchen, building dens, play-based provocations to keep the little ones busy! Hot drink and bacon butty included. |
Where is our Wild Nurture Boys in the Woods session?
Our Appledore School site is set within a mature woodland area, including a poly-tunnel with growing beds, a pond and platform, allotment space, hammocks, rope bridge, fire circle, mud kitchen, digging area and access to an indoor classroom if needed. Toilets and handwashing facilities are accessible all day.
Further Details
Please wear appropriate clothing, including full-length arms and legs and closed-toe shoes. Children will probably enjoy getting mucky in the water play, so wellies and puddle suits are recommended, as well as a change of clothes! We have limited shelter during rainy days. There are undercover areas for belongings, as well as toilets and handwashing facilities. The safety of your child(ren) is our priority. As with all outdoor play, there are some risks. We have assessed and managed these risks and deem them appropriate for the age group. Prior to each session, we conduct a safety sweep taking into consideration all current conditions. All staff have completed their safeguarding training and have the relevant enhanced DBS check. The Wild Nurture Boys in the Woods will proceed in all weather conditions, except those deemed dangerous, such as lightning or high winds. You will be notified if the session has been cancelled because of this, with further instructions. Children may like to bring a drink and snack. We are a nut-free site. |
